Prior to Surgery

A consultation from the surgeon can be made to mark the best possible site for the stoma. The visit will allow you to ask questions and obtain and understanding of what you can expect with a new stoma.

Chronic & Acute Wounds cared for:

  • Neuropathic/diabetics ulcers
  • Arterial ulcers
  • Venous ulcers
  • Abdominal wounds
  • Chronic, non-healing wounds
  • Wounds of mixed causes
  • Trauma wounds
  • Pressure ulcers/injuries
  • Surgically treated wounds that fail to heal.

Care of Stoma After Placement

  • Appliance fitting or re-fitting for long-term stoma
  • Peristomal irritation teaching
  • Pouch leakage odor
  • Adjusting to normal activities

What Happens During a Wound Consultation?

  • General History and Physical
  • Assessment focusing on wound(s)
  • Lab and other diagnostic tests scheduled as needed
  • Treatment Plan Developed

Specialty Referrals

 It is very important to understand when a wound is complex it will usually take multiple providers with special skills to address all components to take the wound through to complete closure. What is unique about this clinic is we remain the coordinator of your care to ensure care is carried out to its fullest.

Medical Coverage

Our services are covered under Medicare and most other insurance plans. Please contact your insurance provider regarding your plan benefits prior to your scheduled appointment HMO insurance patients must have a referral prior to scheduling.

Ostomy Support Group

Ostomy support group meetings are important to ostomates and family members.
The goal of the group is to educate the patient/family and help support others through this process.

Meetings are generally 1 hour and select topics will be discussed related to ostomy issues.
